Users seeing your car while browsing or in a search results list will see straight away if it is of interest to them because of the extra information presented to them.

You can now also filter your search results based on makes and models too. This also means that swapz and sales should come easier and with less questions will need to be answered between members. If you have a car listed go to My Account > My Listings and edit it straight away and see how much quicker offers come your way.

Plus anything else considered a weapon by our Legal Advisors

Our community is not full of rules, but in the early days of the site, the community itself asked for weapons to be banned because of concerns that the person selling or swapping them never really knows whose hands they fall into.

We know that air rifles, pistols and airsoft weapons are legal to buy once you prove your age and identity to the retailer. Anyone swapping or selling a used air weapon is liable to a fine of at least £1,000+ if they cannot prove beyond reasonable doubt that they took the necessary precautions to verify both age and identity of the person they sold or swapped the weapon with.

Swapz wants – and will strive to achieve – a weapon free site. Users that insist on listing these items will be removed from the site as, by listing their weapons they encourage other users to do so too.

Please continue help us all to make this a weapon free site and community.

The first section we have added these fields to is Clothing & Accessories in all the clothing and footwear categories. By doing this, users seeing your item while browsing or in a search results list will see straight away if the size is right, or not.

Today (Monday) we released another update that brings views stats back. More updates tomorrow.

It looks like this is working fine now. If it still doesn’t work for you skip this step when adding and go to My Listings > Edit listing afterwards to add photos. If you can reproduce the problem on your computer please email us at vic.swapz@gmail.com with your browser details.

Cant use the bump section

Resolved. If it doesn’t work for you try to refresh the page using the F5 key on your keyboard. If it doesn’t work after the refresh please contact us.

Friends:

The Friends section has been renamed Recommendations (My Account -> Recommendations). We have also changed the way it works a bit. Friends that you had added in swapz 3 are still there but now, to add someone (recommend) you need to swap with them. This way we’ll all be able to get more out of it, which is something we are going to implement later this month.  For example – if we are sure that User A and User B are trusted users and they both recommend user C we can say that user C is also trusted too.

 Uploading photos

It seems some people cannot upload photos. We know this is an issue with some mobile devices but should work fine on computers. We are checking on what could be causing this.

*** Mar 20 5:43 pm Photo upload problems confirmed. Looks like it’s happening with about 10% of the browsers. We are really sorry – it works on all our machines here and we checked all the browsers we could. Right now we can re-produce on Win 8 IE 10. Update coming shortly.

***** Mar 20 7:15 pm Temporary update – if photo submit doesn’t work for you skip this step. Once the item is created click “EDIT” and go to Edit pictures where you can add photos. We should fix the main form by tomorrow.

********* Mar 20 9:10 pm: Not confirmed yet, but looks like we sorted it out. Now it should work with all modern browsers. If you are on Win XP with IE7 it probably may not work (please use edit pictures method) but other than that should be good.

Bumpz are there. We agree that it’s not obvious how to use them – we will fix that really soon.

To bump go to My Account -> My Listings and click the green “bump” icon to the right of the item listing.

Facebook connect

Broken. We have been moving all of our servers and due to our new IP addresses FB connect has stopped working. This should be fixed by Wednesday.

Remember Me

We have had a few complains that the Remember Me function doesn’t work. This was probably caused by our DNS update (when you saw an IP address instead of swapz.co.uk in the address bar). This should be fine now.
